Your Next Challenge

Reporting to the Mine General Supervisor, you will be part of the Mine Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

  • Represent and respect Agnico Eagle’s company values, pillars, standards, and code of conduct;
  • Supervise mining auxiliary crews;
  • Responsible for supporting mining production, the Auxiliary Supervisor will be responsible for the waste dumps, ore stockpiles, pit roads and floors, pit wall (scaling) and equipment fueling.
  • Plan and organize the shifts, taking several factors into account from multiple sources of information, to achieve optimal performance and meet daily objectives, safely and as planned.
  • Responsible for the health and safety of your crew (work cards, inspections, safety meetings, etc.).
  • Coach and support direct reporters in their daily tasks and using the Supervision Formula;
  • Identify, coach, and develop relief supervisors;
  • Prepare and chair the daily line-up meetings to assess the shift safety and communicate specific instructions to the operators for the shift planning;
  • Review and approve time entry sheet to send to payroll;
  • Verify that all practices and procedures are performed with respect to the defined regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as requested by the Management Team.

What You Need To Succeed

  • High school diploma.
  • A minimum of two (2) recent years of experience in a leadership position.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Mining industry.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment (diversity management).
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team (teamwork and trust building).
  • Ability to plan and organize large-scale operations.
  • Strong leadership and good interpersonal skills are important.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to an ever-changing environment and its challenges.
  • Hold or being able to obtain a Level 2 Supervisor Certification, as per the Mining Act.
  • Hold or being able to obtain a valid first aid certificate.
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days of transportation and rest.
  • Accommodation and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
