Your Next Challenge

Reporting to the General Supervisor, Mine, you will be part of the Mine Department. You will ensure good mining, road maintenance practices and performance as well as playing a significant role in the mid and long-term operation planning and quality control. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

  • Represent and respect Agnico Eagle’s company values, pillars, standards, and code of conduct;
  • Supervise mining production crews;
  • Plan and organize the daily mining activities according to the weekly planning;
  • Ensure that mining practices and procedures are updated, reviewed, and performed with respect to the defined regulations;
  • Coach and support direct reporters in their daily tasks and using the Supervision Formula;
  • Identify, coach, and develop relief supervisors;
  • Prepare and chair the daily line-up meetings to assess the shift safety and communicate specific instructions to the operators for the shift planning;
  • Ensure that employees have received proper training /accreditation for the jobs they perform, and for the tools/equipment that they operate;
  • Perform a follow-up on the quality of the mining activities and provide feedback on optimization opportunities;
  • Coordinate with the Mine Dispatchers for hot seating, equipment status changes, and daily mining operations;
  • Implement cost control measures and ensure its application;
  • Conduct performance appraisal: analyze objectives to assign to direct report, organize, and plan the different objectives to assign per employee and follow-up with the direct report at the end of the year;
  • Plan and organize the training path and needs for the direct report;
  • Review and approve time entry sheet to send to payroll;
  • Review and approve the LME’s daily;
  • Verify the adequate operational Health and Safety and environmental procedures to follow before acting.
  • Perform all other duties as requested by the Management Team.

What You Need To Succeed

  • High School Diploma
  • 5-10 years of experience in the mining industry or in a similar role;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment (diversity management).
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team (teamwork and trust building).
  • Ability to plan and organize large-scale operations.
  • Strong leadership and good interpersonal skills are important.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to an ever-changing environment and its challenges.
  • Hold or being able to obtain a Level 2 Supervisor Certification, as per the Mining Act.
  • Hold or being able to obtain a valid first aid certificate.
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
