Job Description

The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance which includes areas of expertise in electrical maintenance and installation, instrumentation, controls, PLC/DCS programming and troubleshooting. 

Essential Job Functions:
1. Perform and respond to instrumentation and electrical repair and troubleshooting. Repairs can include working with motors, motor starters, running conduit, and wire pulling as well as troubleshooting and repairing the PLC/DCS systems. 

2. Move, set, and calibrate controls such as knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms on control panels.

3. Responsible for monitoring and addressing control process variables such as: flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, and chemicals, by automatic regulation and remote control of processing units such which includes heaters, coolers, thermal oxidizer, compressors. 

4. Determine malfunctioning units by observing control instruments, such as meters and gauges or by automatic warning signals, such as lights and sounding of horns. 

5. Inspect equipment to determine location and nature of malfunction including leaks, breakages, and faulty valves. Determines repair and maintenance of equipment. 

6. Patrol units to verify safe and efficient operating conditions.

7. Lubricate equipment as necessary.

  • At least 3 years experience required

Specialized Knowledge

  • Knowledge of industrial equipment operations and care
  • Experienced in ARC and MIG welding
  • Mechanical knowledge of bearing changes, pumps, and conveyors
  • PLC/DCS knowledge
