Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Sales Executive, you’ll play a key role in driving revenue and market share for Hyde Perth through proactive business development, account management and MICE, group and event sales.
The role is focused across:
40% Business Development – Corporate, MICE & Leisure
30% Account Management – Corporate & Leisure
30% MICE Sales, Conversion & Event Planning
Working closely with the Director of Sales, Revenue, Reservations, Marketing, Food & Beverage and Hotel Operations, you’ll generate new business, grow existing accounts, convert opportunities and ensure a seamless client experience from enquiry through to event delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development
Prospect and qualify new Corporate, MICE and Leisure opportunities.
Develop relationships with corporate decision-makers, TMCs, PCOs, DMCs, event agencies and travel partners.
Conduct proactive sales calls, client meetings, networking, market visits, hotel inspections and client entertainment.
Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately record activity in the CRM.
Identify competitor accounts, market opportunities and new revenue streams.
Account Management
Manage and grow a portfolio of Corporate and Leisure accounts.
Build strong relationships with key clients, bookers and decision-makers.
Conduct regular account reviews, sales calls and client meetings.
Manage RFPs, rate negotiations and account development plans.
Identify opportunities to increase room nights, revenue and share of wallet.
Develop cross-selling opportunities across accommodation, meetings, events and Food & Beverage.
Maintain accurate account information and monitor account production.
MICE Sales, Conversion & Event Planning
Manage MICE, group and event enquiries from initial enquiry through to delivery and follow-up.
Prepare proposals, quotations and agreements and proactively follow up to maximise conversion.
Conduct site inspections and negotiate rates and terms within approved parameters.
Work with Revenue to maximise pricing and total revenue.
Understand client requirements including event objectives, room layouts, menus, AV, accommodation and schedules.
Coordinate confirmed events and ensure all requirements are clearly documented and communicated.
Liaise with F&B, Kitchen, Front Office, Reservations and Operations to ensure seamless delivery.
Maintain accurate tentative, definite and lost-business records.
Where possible, meet and greet clients on event days and follow up post-event to drive repeat business.
Qualifications
You’ll be a proactive, commercially minded sales professional who enjoys prospecting, building relationships and converting opportunities. You’ll be confident on the phone and in person, highly organised and comfortable managing multiple clients, enquiries and events.
Ideally, you’ll have:
Experience in hotel sales, hospitality, business development, account management or events.
Strong prospecting, communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
MICE, group or event experience is highly regarded.
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Excellent organisation and time management skills.
Confidence working collaboratively within a small hotel team.
Experience with CRM and hotel systems, including Ivvy and Opera.
Knowledge of the Perth Corporate, MICE or Leisure market is highly regarded.
A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional client experiences.
