Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Engineer - Interior & Finishes to oversee the execution, quality, and timely completion of interior fit-out and finishing works across residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, and mixed-use projects. The candidate will be responsible for site supervision, contractor coordination, quality inspections, progress monitoring, and ensuring that all interior works are delivered as per approved specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution
- Supervise day-to-day execution of interior and finishing works at site.
- Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Monitor progress of finishing activities and report on project status regularly.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and MEP teams for smooth project execution.
- Identify site constraints and provide practical solutions to execution challenges.
Interior & Finishing Works
- Oversee installation and execution of:
- Flooring (Marble, Granite, Tiles, Wooden Flooring, etc.)
- Ceiling Works (Gypsum, Metal, Acoustic Ceilings)
- Joinery & Carpentry Works
- Painting & Wall Finishes
- Modular Furniture & Fixtures
- False Ceilings & Partitions
- Decorative & Architectural Finishes
- Ensure finishing works meet project design intent and quality expectations.
Quality Assurance & Control
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship and material quality.
- Verify materials received at site against approved specifications.
- Monitor mock-ups and sample approvals before execution.
- Prepare snag lists and ensure timely closure of punch points.
- Maintain quality records and inspection reports.
Contractor Management
- Coordinate and monitor contractor and subcontractor activities.
- Ensure adequate manpower and resources are deployed at site.
- Track contractor productivity and adherence to project schedules.
- Assist in verification of contractor bills and work completion certifications.
Planning & Coordination
- Support preparation of work schedules and execution plans.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Attend project review meetings and provide updates on progress and issues.
- Ensure effective coordination between civil, MEP, façade, and interior teams.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with project safety standards and site regulations.
- Promote safe working practices among contractors and site personnel.
- Report safety concerns and participate in safety audits.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily progress reports and site records.
- Update project documentation including inspection reports, material approvals, and progress trackers.
- Assist in preparation of weekly and monthly project status reports.
- Ensure documentation is maintained for project handover and closeout.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or related discipline.
- Certifications related to Interior Fit-Out, Quality Control, or Project Management will be an added advantage.
Required Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in interior fit-out and finishing works execution.
- Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, or mixed-use developments.
- Exposure to luxury interior projects and high-end finishing standards is preferred.
