Job description
Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a People Analytics Lead to own the strategic direction and operational maturity of the People Analytics function, transforming it into an insights-driven strategic partner to the People Operations team and the broader organization. Working closely with data engineering, this person will define and govern our people data model, build dashboards and predictive models, set governance standards, and serve as HRT’s primary people analytics advisor.
Responsibilities
- Deliver people analytics insights and reporting for both leadership and company-wide audiences, translating complex findings into clear, actionable narratives
- Build predictive models for projections such as headcount growth and time-to-fill forecasting, and conduct deep-dive investigations into workforce trends
- Own the design of a single source of truth for people data — defining the data model, schema, and metric requirements — and partner with data engineering to build and maintain a structured, auditable repository that replaces fragmented spreadsheets
- Establish a standardized metrics library (definitions, sources, methodologies, refresh cadences) and maintain automated dashboards that serve self-service needs for People Ops and managers
- Manage, mentor, and develop the People Analytics team
- Establish data governance policies including data access controls, privacy compliance, documentation standards, and quality assurance processes
- Conduct deep-dive investigations into workforce trends and present findings
- Partner with other teams to integrate people data with financial and operational datasets for cross-functional insights
- Set analytics roadmap aligned to People Operations and business strategy, managing competing priorities with a clear intake and prioritization process
- Drive stakeholder engagement by proactively identifying high-value analytics opportunities and building trust through consistent, reliable delivery
- Champion a culture of data literacy across the People Ops function and broader organisation through training, enablement sessions, and accessible reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in a quantitative field (e.g., I/O Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, Economics); relevant Master's or analytics-focused MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive people analytics experience, including 5+ years leading an analytics team and 5+ years embedded within or alongside HR across the full employee lifecycle
- Experience supporting 1,000+ global or multi-site workforce preferred
- Expertise in regression, modeling, clustering, factor analysis, and A/B testing for workforce questions
- Demonstrated experience partnering with data engineers to build a people data warehouse — defining the data model, specifying requirements, and validating delivered data — without needing to build the pipelines yourself
- Proficiency in SQL and Python or R for analysis, modeling, and prototyping, with enough understanding of data warehousing and ETL/ELT to guide and validate engineering work
- Ability to drive AI/LLM solutions for data synthesis and workforce storytelling
- Experience with SQL (complex joins, CTEs, window functions) and proficiency in Python/R for statistical modeling and automation
- Experience managing and governing a people data warehouse in close partnership with data engineering
- Experience with Workday and Workday analytics (Advanced/Matrix Reporting, Calculated Fields, Prism)
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills for ad-hoc analysis; ability and desire to reduce spreadsheet dependency
- Familiarity with People platforms (Culture Amp, Greenhouse, etc.) and data integration
- Familiarity with multi-country data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) preferred
The estimated base salary range for this position is $225,000-$275,000, based on job-related skills and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
