Job Description
We are looking for an IT Delivery lead who wants to shape how engineering delivers at scale and turn complexity into stronger teams, clearer ownership, and better business outcomes.
Mission
As IT Delivery lead, you will strengthen Engineering Managers, shape technical direction with Product and Architecture, and build the conditions for faster, safer, and more predictable delivery across your area.
What will you do
Organizational structure & scaling
- Shape and evolve the engineering organization across multiple teams, products, or domains so ownership is clear, coordination is simpler, and delivery scales effectively
- Remove structural bottlenecks, duplicated responsibilities, and dependency-heavy ways of working that slow teams down
- Build an operating model with clear decision rights, stronger autonomy, and end-to-end ownership
- Coach and grow Engineering Managers so they can lead with greater scope, judgment, and impact
Strategic technical direction & architecture
- Help shape technical direction together with Product, Architecture, and business stakeholders
- Influence major technical trade-off decisions to improve scalability, resilience, security, maintainability, and time to market
- Challenge over-complex solutions, unnecessary customization, and architecture choices that create permanent dependencies
- Drive modernization and simplification where legacy constraints limit delivery speed, automation, or service stability
Engineering leadership & capability building
- Strengthen engineering leadership capability across Engineering Managers, senior technical leaders, and key experts
- Raise engineering maturity through coaching, standards, communities of practice, and targeted capability development
- Establish and reinforce expectations for CI/CD, automated testing, observability, code quality, security, and operational readiness
- Support adoption of AI-assisted engineering and productivity tools where they improve quality, speed, and efficiency
Delivery & operational excellence at scale
- Improve delivery predictability across multiple workstreams, products, or domains
- Partner across roles to manage major dependencies, risks, and delivery constraints early and transparently
- Strengthen release reliability, production stability, and the ability of teams to build and run services well
- Drive improvements in engineering operations, incident prevention, technical debt reduction, and post-incident learning
Quality, security & reliability
- Set clear expectations for engineering quality, secure-by-design delivery, and resilient operations
- Ensure teams build with strong automated test coverage, observability, performance monitoring, and operational readiness in mind
- Reduce rework, defect leakage, change failure rate, and recurring incidents through stronger engineering practices
- Embed security, privacy, compliance, and accessibility into the way teams work rather than treating them as late-stage checks
Cross-functional & executive alignment
- Translate business priorities into sustainable engineering plans and realistic delivery commitments
- Communicate technical risks, trade-offs, and investment needs clearly to senior stakeholders
- Represent engineering in strategic planning and broader transformation discussions
- Escalate systemic blockers that cannot be solved at team or domain level
Engineering metrics & continuous improvement
- Use engineering metrics such as cycle time, release frequency, change failure rate, defect leakage, recurring incidents, and technical debt to expose constraints and guide decisions
- Review trends over time rather than reacting to isolated data points
- Drive practical improvement experiments and help teams reuse what works
- Reduce manual reporting, non-value coordination, and avoidable governance overhead
Technology & product accountability
- Own technology accountability across your scope so technical decisions support customer value, business impact, and long-term scalability
- Help ensure product roadmaps include the technical investments needed for sustainable delivery and stable operations
- Partner across Product, Architecture, Business, Security, and Operations to turn priorities into scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions
- Keep engineering delivery connected to real outcomes, not just execution activity
What you will own
- the strength and effectiveness of engineering delivery across your scope
- the development and quality of engineering leadership, especially Engineering Managers
- the evolution of organizational design, ownership models, and leadership layers that enable better scale
- engineering standards and capability-building priorities that improve quality, speed, and reliability
- key escalations and systemic risks that affect delivery performance, service stability, security, or long-term sustainability
- a strong voice in technical direction, roadmap feasibility, and investment trade-offs together with Product and Architecture
Qualifications
You will succeed in this role if you
Leadership & stakeholder management
- lead through clarity, accountability, and coaching
- develop strong Engineering Managers and technical leaders
- work confidently across Product, Architecture, and business stakeholders
- simplify complexity, unclear ownership, and slow coordination
Technical & engineering delivery
- combine technical depth with sound engineering judgment
- understand modern practices such as CI/CD, test automation, observability, DevOps, and cloud engineering
- balance speed, quality, reliability, security, and long-term sustainability
- improve delivery at scale by reducing friction and raising engineering standards
Product & domain expertise
- connect engineering decisions to product outcomes and business value
- work effectively in complex domain environments with competing priorities
- operate well in a large enterprise while pushing for simpler, faster delivery
- use technology as a lever for better customer and business outcomes
The selection process includes a leadership assessment evaluating leadership capabilities and fit with DTAG leadership and quality standards. A successful completion is required to proceed further in the hiring process.
