Apprentice High Voltage Electrician | Dawson
Dawson Mine is seeking motivated and safety-focused individuals to join our team as Apprentice High Voltage Electrician. This is an exciting opportunity for Moura and Banana Shire residents to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience maintaining and repairing some of the largest and most advanced mining equipment in Australia.
Job Description
During this 4-year apprenticeship, you’ll be working alongside experienced tradespeople, you will complete a nationally recognised qualification while developing the skills needed for a rewarding career in the mining industry.
As a Apprentice High Voltage Electrician, you will:
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of high voltage electrical equipment and systems.
- Support fault finding and troubleshooting activities.
- Participate in planned and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Learn and apply safe work practices and procedures.
- Complete all apprenticeship training requirements and assessments.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Contribute to a positive safety culture and team environment.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of Year 12 (or equivalent)
- Sound achievement in Mathematics and English
- Genuine interest in pursuing a career as an Electrical Tradesperson specialising in High Voltage systems
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Current Australian driver's licence (or ability to obtain during the apprenticeship)
Desirable
- Certificate II in Electrotechnology (UEE22020) or equivalent pre-apprenticeship qualification
- Previous exposure to electrical, mining, industrial, or construction environments
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Working at Heights or Confined Space training
- Demonstrated mechanical or technical aptitude through employment, study, hobbies, or extracurricular activities
